Mobile Communication and Internet

Mobile communication services in Armenia are provided by the following operators:

- UCOM

- Viva-MTS

- Beeline

The signal quality and internet speed are equally good with all three providers, although there may be interruptions in mountainous areas.

A SIM card can be purchased at mobile operator offices or at the airport.

You will need a passport to sign the contract.

You can top up your balance at any bank, post office, payment terminal, using prepaid top-up cards, or online on the operators’ websites. Payments are made in the local currency - Armenian drams (֏).

All websites have an English-language version.

Tourists should choose prepaid plans only. This means you pay for the service in advance and then use it.


Wi-Fi in Armenia

In major cities, most cafés, restaurants, and hotels offer free Wi-Fi. You can ask the staff for the password.

In rural areas, small establishments usually do not have Wi-Fi.

101, 112, 911 - Ministry of Emergency Situations (can be called in any emergency situation)

103 - Ambulance / Emergency Medical Services

104 - Emergency Gas Service
