Diving and Windsurfing 
Just 60 kilometers from Yerevan lies one of the world’s largest high-altitude freshwater lakes - Lake Sevan. About 250 rare species of plants and fish live in its clear waters, and they can be observed while scuba diving. Thanks to favorable water temperatures, depth, and location, the lake is well suited even for beginner divers. Depending on the season and weather conditions, water visibility can reach up to 10 meters. On the bottom of Lake Sevan, you can see stromatolites - some of the oldest living organisms on Earth. In Armenia’s Vayots Dzor region, located about a two-hour drive from Yerevan, you can explore several caves at once. Among them are Areni-1, better known as the Birds’ Cave, and Magellan Cave. The latter is considered one of the largest caves in the country and was named after hunter Magellan Arakelyan, who discovered it in 1980. To date, only part of the cave has been explored - about 1.7 km - while its numerous passages still hide their secrets, known perhaps only to the eight species of bats that inhabit these dark depths.
