Wings of Tatev Cable Car (Syunik) R5

The “Wings of Tatev” cable car is rightfully considered one of Armenia’s top attractions. It is listed in the Guinness World Records as the longest non-stop reversible aerial tramway in the world. Its length is 5,752 meters, and the route connects the village of Halidzor with the Tatev Monastery - a unique architectural monument of the 10th century. The ride lasts from 11 to 15 minutes, depending on weather conditions, and reaches a height of up to 320 meters above the deep Vorotan River Gorge. From the cabin, you can enjoy breathtaking views of cliffs, forests, and mountain landscapes, turning the journey into a true aerial adventure rather than just a means of transport. The cable car was built in just 10 months and opened on October 16, 2010. The project was carried out by Doppelmayr/Garaventa, an Austrian-Swiss company and a global leader in cableway construction. The modern Swiss-made cabins accommodate 30 passengers and one attendant, moving synchronously in opposite directions: as one arrives at the terminal, the other departs. You can reach the starting point from Yerevan by covering 236 kilometers - the drive takes about four hours. There is also a route from Goris or via Lake Sevan, a convenient option for travelers exploring the south of the country. The ticket price is 6,500 AMD one-way and 9,000 AMD round trip. For those who prefer planning ahead, one-day tours from Yerevan are available (lasting about 10–12 hours), including transportation, the cable car ride, and a guided visit to Tatev Monastery. “Wings of Tatev” operates almost year-round, except on Mondays during the low season. It is not just a way to reach an ancient monastery but also an opportunity to admire the beauty of the Syunik region from a bird’s-eye view and experience some of the most memorable emotions of a trip through Armenia.

Yerevan Park (Yerevan) R3Ye

Yerevan Park is the largest theme amusement park in the region, perfect for family recreation. Covering an area of more than 11 hectares, it is divided into two zones: indoor and outdoor. The park features 27 different rides, an ice rink, a trampoline arena, a two-story maze, and stages for theatrical shows. One of its main advantages is a single entry ticket that provides unlimited access to all attractions throughout the day. This includes unlimited rides, skating, participation in entertainment programs, and free access to play areas. For visitors’ convenience, the park also offers a food court, cafés, arcade games, party and birthday halls, and a souvenir shop. Thanks to its combination of thrilling experiences and a cozy atmosphere, Yerevan Park has become one of the main attractions for tourists and locals seeking bright emotions and fun leisure activities.

GUM Market (Yerevan) R2Ye

While in Yerevan, be sure to visit the famous GUM Market - a place filled with a vibrant oriental atmosphere. Here you will find colorful stalls offering dried fruits, sweets, spices, cheeses, meat delicacies, fresh fruits, and aromatic coffee. It’s a great spot for a leisurely walk, photos, and picking up small souvenirs. Although the variety of products is impressive, prices can be higher than average, so it’s not the best place for large grocery shopping - smaller local markets are more suitable for that. But the atmosphere and charm of GUM are absolutely worth experiencing at least once.
